When someone reaches out and asks if you’d like to spend two years in the stunning backdrop of Vancouver, B.C. to help plan the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, you don’t hesitate and I didn’t. Partnering with Contemporary International and the Vancouver Olympic Organizing Committee, as Regional Manager, City Venues, I oversaw event services operations and teams for seven venues throughout the city cluster. Providing counsel and mentorship for city cluster event services managers, my role was to ensure fit for purpose event services functional operating plans, staffing plans, training procedures and integration with sponsor and hospitality operations.
